Milligan, Max - Play Beck

A must for Beck fans!
This is one of my favourites of Max Milligan's "Play" series, giving a true insight into the beautiful melodic tones of Jeff Beck's guitar work. Max explains in much detail the various techniques used by Beck, including his use of harmonics, string bends, volume swells and whammy bar technique.

This DVD is a must for all aspiring "Beck" style guitarists.

Doc McStuffins: Friendship Is The Best Medicine (DVD + Digital Copy)

Episodes
My kids love Doc McStuffins, but I think Amazon could do a better job with their product description on this one. The episodes on this disc are:

1. Engine Nine, Feelin' Fine/The Right Stuff
2. Caught Blue Handed/To Squeak, Or Not To Squeak
3. Ben/Anna Split!/That's Just Claw-ful
4. The Rip Heard Round the World/Walkie-Talkie Time
5. Dark Knight/Hallie Gets an Earful

My daughter loooooooooves this
This was immediate love for my 4 year old. She is obsessed with the show, I have never seen her like this before !

A Great children show
My daughter just loves this show. She knows the characters by name. She's so happy when it's on. I'm so happy there releasing it on DVD. I recommend to anyone with small children.

Dances & Waves: Schoenbrunn 2012 Night Concert

Well Worth 91 Minutes of Your Time
This is one of the better DVDs I have purchased recently. Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Vienna Phil with zest and no score, his usual practice. The dance sequences are well produced with the La Mer ballet being sensational. Following my first viewing, I have played the disc as I would a CD to continue enjoying the creative combination of musical selections. I highly recommend this DVD.

Only good
I just filed this dvd altogether with the others I will watch occasionally.
The concert is well recorded, but it is just another concert.
-- -- --
This is a second opinion from viewing (re-re-viewing) the concert again.

I would rate it 2,3 stars...
Really not impressive.
Goes to the 3rd shelf with the others I'll watch ocasionally.

And I have quite a few from Gergiev - all of the top shelf.

Summer night
It makes you really want to be there. Video captures both the details and the big picture of that evening.

Season 4 Reunion Special Part Two [HD]

A guilty pleasure!
Not for nothing, I love this show!

Jerseylicious allows a peek into the lives of real people that work in beauty salons in New Jersey. And what an entertaining peek it is!

We get to see the battles between the owners of several salons, their store managers, but best of all the hairstylists and make-up artists. We watch as they create their magic with hair and make-up and, to their credit, they all seem to genuinely care about their customers and helping people feel good about themselves through beauty. But the behind the scenes shots show how they treat each other and give glimpses into their personal lives.

I've been watching the show since the beginning and what started with one salon (the Gatsby) has slowly evolved to follow other salons as well (The Glam Factory and Anthony Roberts Salon).

At the heart of this show is a battle that depicts good vs. evil (in my humble opinion) when charming make-up artist Olivia takes on bullying...

Fun to watch
As I said before in reviewing Jerseylicious, you can really learn on how to and how not to handle certain situations. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I just shake my head.

Pteranodon Family World Tour/Gilbert The Junior Conductor

Very good kids show.
My son loves this show. It has a train. It has dinosaurs. Even the theme song is catchy. I even like watching it, too.

Great Cartoon
This is a very informative, kind and entertaining cartoon, my grandson and I enjoy watching it together on a daily basis.

Love the Dinosaur Train
This is a great series, I give 5 stars to all of them. Very educational, my 4-year-old now wants to be a paleontologist!

Two and a Half Men: The Complete Ninth Season

Maybe it's just a bad dream?

Review of Crisis at the Castle
I enjoyed these 3 different stories that gives you a different slant on life in a castle. Maybe its not all the "life of roses" one would think. Unless you have unlimited funds, you must always be chasing that dollar (or should I say euro) to maintain your inheritance. A million dollar roof is no joke. Opening up your home to tourists and weddings, etc. must be a challenge as you will see in these 3 documentaries.

a good way to watch all 3 castle stories
A close look at three British castles that are at a deciding point. Can they be saved and kept in the family? Can business/event uses provide adequate income to meet the rinsing costs of upkeep? The families living in the structures bear their stories and lives to show the world that living in a crumbling castle is not all it's cracked-up to be. It's presented almost like unique form of reality TV. Middle-class aristocratic owners are shown in a new form of "Extreme Makeover." How to Avoid Castle Bankruptcy 101. There is an older TV series that fictionally presented something similar: "Monarch of the Glen" (recommended).

SUBTITLES available for all 3 different castle episodes.
1. Sudley Castle
120,000 annual visitors dropped to 50,000 as the castle was closed, only a visitor's center open. The family needs income to survive, and with two contemporary generations living under one (large) roof there is tension. Lady Ashcombe (a former Kentuckian) refuses to honor...
