In the Heat of the Night: The First Season (Carroll O'Connor, Alan Autry)

In the Heat of the Night at last
I was delighted to finally see this Series released on DVD. I had never heard of TGG Direct but this was a no brainer for me since this is one of my favorite programs. I have only watched the first disc so far, however the picture and audio quality seem to be just fine. I did notice a few little minor irritants. First of all the artwork on the front is a little grainy (I am confused by the large city silouhette located on a large body of water depicted under the cast photo), they used plain black cases similar to those used for single DVD releases, and the DVD labels look like something one could make at home. Also a little annoying, you can choose a show from the main menu however after the show you select is done the next episode strarts playing as a DVD with "play all" option would rather than going back to the main menu. More annoying, the episode play time does not start at 0 seconds except for the first episode on each disc as it normally would. For example if episode one...

Best TV Series Ever!!!!!
I have been looking to purchase this series for a long time. I am so glad someone finally release it to the general public. I can only hope the rest of the series will follow. This show has touched the hearts of everyone who has watched it over the years. Many of the actors are no longer with us, but their work can live on thru these episodes. Someone once said on this show as long as we have memories then the person will always be with us.

So Glad It Finally Got Put on DVD
This was a wonderful show with top notch acting from all. Carroll O'Connor was one of the best actors of his time. Everyone take notice that another DVD with 24 hours of shows has been released. You'll notice it now on Amazon. I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago and expect it to arrive in the next week or so. Can't wait to have a major "Heat" marathon!
