This is hypnotic music, jazz played with a classicalfeel. I have been a follower of Free Flight since the 1980's.
As a fan of flute, I love Jethro Tull, Jean luc Ponty and James Walker to name just a few musicians that play
the instrument. This album has the best audio quality of any jazz disc I have ever heard. An added benefit is the 3 D production.
Its like the musicians are in your living room. I highly recommend.
A note from the producer of this program...
I went to Cal Arts with the pianist on this project and was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the legendary James Walker. This is a Blu-ray 3D disc...but is completely compatible with 2D players and televisions. The reputation of AIX Records for superior sound is well established but it's the combination of great 5.1 surround tracks with HD-Video that makes the blu-ray format such a winning combination. The disc has two 5.1 surround music mixes (one from the "stage" perspective and the other from the "audience" POV). There is also an HD-Audio track at full 96 kHz/24-bits. Our products are not processed in anyway...not EQ, no dynamics compression and no artificial reverberation. This is a purist recording done in a chamber music auditorium not a dead studio.
