Green Lantern: Animated Series - Season One Part 1

Tremendously entertaining, with terrific storytelling and animation.
GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES was everything I hoped it would be, and not much more, but that's actually okay. I've been almost head-over-heels in love with the DC Animated Universe since its true inception back in 1992 with BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. One of the things that is so great about this series is that it stands alongside the Bruce Timm designs of old but gives it a CG-enhancement. You get a very solid sense of three dimensions every time you look at the screen. And I don't think this would have worked quite as well being hand-drawn. It gives the incredibly gifted animators more leeway to make more interesting-looking characters and it gives you a greater sense of the vastness of space, which is where we spend most of our time with our main characters, which are Hal Jordan, Kilowog, Aya (their experimental spaceship's AI), and Razer, a Red Lantern who was betrayed and manipulated by the Red Lantern's leader Atrocitus.

This Green Lantern Needs Blu!
Love the series and the CGI. Don't know why folks are so hung up on the CGI. It's visually stunning and I like that DC is doing something different. What I really would like to see is this series on Blu Ray. I'll be holding off on buying this until it comes out on the Hi Def Blu Ray format which is what this deserves. I'd love to also see a new Superman series come out in this style. Batman is getting another animated interpretation so why can't the Grand Daddy of all heroes Superman get one? Get Paul Dini and Bruce Timm to gather the band back together for another "Super" tour. There are so many more Superman stories to tell! In case you were wondering about the 4 stars? I only gave this 4 stars because I feel it should be released in Blu Ray and not just dvd.

Awesome show, can't wait for part 2, nor can my daughter.
First Off, I'd just like to start this out by saying I don't rate a whole lot of things on Amazon although I do buy a whole lot of things from them, But I couldn't help rating this product when I saw that this was coming to DVD. I have a daughter who now because of this series along with Avengers, Young Justice, Ultimate Spiderman and Thunder Cats loves Saturday and Sunday morning cartoons, and she loves looking at them with me and waking me up on those days and saying Daddy it's Saturday morning cartoons wake up, which reminds me of when I was a kid and they had tons of cool cartoons on Saturday mornings back then for us to wake up to and to enjoy and I find it kind of cool that now I get to enjoy those days all over again through her eyes while helping her to build memories of her own all while I get to spend some quality time with my daughter while also enjoying those same cartoons with her. That is why I can honestly say that these type of cartoons are made for both Adults and...
